Social Impact
For SBV, it’s more than just building real estate, it’s about building the community. That’s why SBV partners with local community and neighborhood organizations to provide vital social services, including after school programs for children, skills training seminars and adult education classes.
At NYCHA PACT Brooklyn Bundle II, SBV and it’s joint-venture partners created a social service program that both enhanced the services of existing community service partners at the developments and surveyed residents for needs they had to bring in new services. SBV is proud to partner with El Puente de Williamsburg, the National Action Network, Bedford-Stuyvesant Restoration.
We also are proud to prioritize the hiring of Minority- and Woman-Owned Businesses and create jobs for local residents. At the NYCHA PACT Brooklyn Bundle II properties we exceeded our goal of filling 30% of all new positions with Section 3 qualified hires, particularly focusing on hiring NYCHA residents. We believe that our projects are a unique opportunity to provide jobs and training opportunities to residents in the community to help them achieve future economic advancement.
